Ketamine & Spravto (Coming Soon)

What is Ketamine? (Coming Soon)

Ketamine is a medication originally developed as an anesthetic in the 1960s. It is classified as a dissociative anesthetic, meaning it creates a feeling of detachment from the environment and the body, which makes it useful in surgical and medical procedures. In addition to its use in anesthesia, ketamine has gained attention for its potential in treating certain mental health disorders, especially depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Ketamine is chemically related to other anesthetics like PCP (phencyclidine), but it has distinct properties, including its ability to produce rapid antidepressant effects.

One of the most exciting uses of ketamine in mental health is its ability to treat treatment-resistant depression (TRD). TRD refers to depression that does not improve after trying two or more antidepressant medications. Ketamine has been shown to have rapid antidepressant effects, often within hours to days, unlike traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to show significant effects
